The Touwsrivier CPV solar plant is a 44 MW concentrating photovoltaic power station located 13 km outside the town of Touwsrivier in the Western Cape of South Africa. The facility reached full capacity in December 2014 and is the second largest operational CPV facility in the world.

The installation consists of 1,500 dual-axis CX-S530 II solar tracking systems divided into 60 sections. The 25 systems in each section are connected in parallel to a 630-kW grid-connected central inverter.

SOLUTION PROPOSED BY THE DELVALLE ENGINEERING TEAM

The Delvalle engineering department provided the client with the solution for the region of Cape Town in South Africa, where installation operational reliability had to be ensured at all times and with a lifetime guarantee of over 20 years.  We at Delvalle offered our IP67 watertight electrical cabinets in AISI 316 stainless steel, developed for telecommunications security and control via radio at the solar plant.
