The Riyadh Metro

The Riyadh metro is one of the largest infrastructure works ever built. This metro represents a true “revolution” in the field of urban planning and in the way of movement in Riyadh.

FFC was the tender in charge of the construction of 64 km of railways lines, of which 33 km run elevated through viaducts and another 24 km in tunnels. This project was completed in 5 years with different companies and was delivered “turn-key”.

SOLUTION BY DELVALLE

The special configuration of this project requires junction boxes with a high protection against high temperatures and pressures that are generated in tunnels. These cabinets allow that powerful fans run correctly inside the tunnels, these fans have to be working continuously to guarantee renewed and fresh air inside of tunnels and in the trains. The fans simultaneously expel the hot air, so the enclosures are exposed to wide variations in temperature.
