The province of Lugo is an appropriate place to make a €61 million investment for the connection of the Paradela and Serra das Penas wind farms with a total combined capacity of 60 MW.  Between the two wind farms (Paradela and Serra das Penas) they generate 185 gigawatt hours (GWh) per year.

The Serra das Penas wind farm has 21 2-MW wind turbines (42 MW in total), producing 142 GWh/year. The Paradela wind farm has 6 wind turbines with a total capacity of 12 MW, producing 42 GWh/year. A 20-kilometre-long line has been built to transfer the energy, linking the wind farm substations and the Chantada substation.

SOLUTION PROPOSED BY THE DELVALLE ENGINEERING TEAM

In the execution of these projects, the "Sustainable Construction Site" model has been applied, a model which allows the installation of photovoltaic solar panels to cover part of the energy needs during the work. In addition to this methodology, our solution is the Luxor Series galvanised enclosure and IP66, which is a sufficiently tried and tested enclosure with a low environmental impact, making it a great outdoor solution due to its safety, robustness and durability at a competitive price. Other measures implemented include water saving through the installation of tanks and rainwater collection systems. Following project completion, the photovoltaic panels and water-saving equipment were donated for public use.
