A project of this nature (combined cycle) requires knowledge and experience in power generation due to the coexistence of two thermodynamic cycles in the same system, one whose working fluid is steam and the other whose working fluid is a gas product of combustion or burning. Both processes require specific sophistication and knowledge to ensure the safety and integrity of the facility.

In this case, the project involves the planning, implementation and operation of the UTE Nossa Senhora de Fátima Gas Thermoelectric Plant in Macaé, in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

A separate carbon steel pipeline to supply gas to the plant, a transmission line with 9 towers connecting the existing substation, a water supply line from the Macaé River and an outfall for treated effluent to be released into the river. The generation process foresees the use of three independent generation modules. Each module is to have a gas turbine, a recovery boiler, a steam turbine and two energy generators.

SOLUTION PROPOSED BY THE DEVALLE ENGINEERING TEAM

Technical complexity requires having outdoor electrical enclosures and cabinets with the highest resistance to corrosion, which guarantee perfect watertightness and a long service life for the equipment inside. We proposed a two-fold solution: stainless steel wall enclosures Luxor Series and stainless steel junction boxes Geo Serieswhose features are specifically designed for facilities with these requirements and for locations in chemically aggressive environments.
