• C1 - Durability very low - Heated buildings with clean atmospheres: offices, shops, schools, hotels,... (indoor).
• C2 - Durability low - Atmospheres with low level of pollution. Mainly rural areas (outdoor). Unheated buildings where condensation may occur: warehpuses, depots, sports halls,...  (indoor).
• C3 - Durability medium - Urban and industrial atmospheres, moderate sulphur dioxide pollution. Coastal areas with low salinity (outdoor). Production rooms with high humidity and some air pollution: food-processing plants, laundries, breweries, dairies,... (indoor).
• C4 - Durability high - Industrial areas and coastal areas with moderate salinity (outdoor). Chemical plants, swimming pools, coastal ship and boatyards (indoor).
• C5 - Durability very high - Industrial areas with high humidity and aggressive atmosphere and coastal and offshore areas with high salinity (outdoor). Buildings or areas with almost permanent condensation and with high pollution (indoor).
• CX - Durability extreme - Overseas areas with high salinity and industrial areas with extreme humidity and aggressive atmosphere and tropical and subtropical environments (outdoor). Industrial areas with high humidity and aggressive atmosphere (indoor).
